Help assess the damage...

Yesterday we came over a hill and ran into a narrow washout. It bent the lower A-arm and pushed the passanger wheel back.

I have the a-arm off and can't tell if there is any other damage. The upper A-arm, steering arm and axel all look straight. What else should I look for? Is there any points where I could take measurements? Is frame damage a possibility?

Let me know if you need more info.

Thanks for your help.

Look where the frame tube goes into the square frame. This is right there were your lower a-arm bolts on. Usually it will shove the tube back into the box. Take a picture of this area and post it. Im sure you will get some info back. Did you have insurance? If not you could always put it back together and get it. Insurance is cheap for these things?

Re: Help assess the damage...

For the record, I DO have insurance. But if all I need is an A-arm it doesn't pay to make a claim. If there is more serious damage then I will go that route. I'm just asking for some input on the extent of my damage. There are links above to pics of where the a-arm attaches.

Can we stay on topic please. Thanks for any help.

If it's off a RZR not S I'll give you the a-arm for free... I won't assess the damage but I might access the damage...LOL...

Re: Help assess the damage...

I can't see anywhere where the frame is creased, bent, etc. The tube to main frame looks straight and the A-arm area looks straight, too.

Anyone else with a keen eye?

Re: Help assess the damage...

Are you able to remove the bushing out of the a-arm that is bent? I've seen were someone bends their A arm, buy a new one and then the old bushing is bent ( sometimes its really hard to tell) and then have to buy a new bushing. Just a thought to save you another headache--get a new bushing if you buy a new a arm.

Hopefully its just your a-arm. I cant really tell anything by the pics-it looks ok.

Re: Help assess the damage...

It looks good! Put a new a-arm on and measure the wheel base.
