Turbo Kits

I'm in the market for a Turbo kit for my rzr. I have noticed a huge difference in $$$$. The TSI turbo kit seems the most reasonable and looks well put together. Am I missing something? Please help me out!

Re: Turbo Kits

Trey @ MXC-usa has the best kit I have seen. Check out the article in UTV OffRoad Mag. Base gasket to lower compresion, third injector, intercooled and 10 lbs of boost. If I was going to run one, that would be the one.

Re: Turbo Kits

I have the MCX and am very pleased. Three sell pionts:
Large effective innercooler which really works.
Spacer to de-compress the compression.
3rd injector and stand-alone comp-chip to manage the system.
If a system doesn't have these. don't buy IMHO.
Downsides:
Cannot use the Lock and ride box
Need to run high test gas.
Back deck does get warm, but I think it does anyway, I just didn't know for I had the box.
Read the article and the clincher, take a test drive,
John

Re: Turbo Kits

What did the MCX turbo kit cost? Was it all inclusive or did you end up having to buy a bunch of addition items to get it dialed in(gauges, contollers, etc.? What clutch set up did you go with? When you are talking about high octane fuel are you referring to racing gas or just premium pump gas? How much hotter is your engine running with the turbo vs. stock? Like to get a turbo but still have lots of questions...

I don't want to discuss the cost for then someone always come back with "so-an-so does it for$$$$, etc" it is enought to say that it is a large investment that REALy gives your RZR BALLS!!!!
Now your answers:
The kit is inclusive, which includes a Clutch rebuild. You will want this for you want the clutch fully closed (including the spacer) when the boost starts mine startsat around 30mph if you roll on slow.
I did buy a boost gage but iit is not realy needed, just something to watch if you dare to take your eyes off the trail or sand. If I bought another boost gage, I noticed that someone had a vacum-0-boost that I wonder if it would work, I would ask Trey (contact thru the website) first.
High test is 93 octane @ the pump. Some of the other kits I know recomment race gas for their systems may lack some of those "must haves" that I mentioned.
Don't know about "how much hotter" I would imagine it would be hotter if I had my foot in it all the time, but I actually can't figure out where I would be riding that I would.
If you are on the fence I would recommend that you test drive the beast, but I warn you IT IS ADICTATIVE,
any other question, fire away
John

Re: Turbo Kits

John,
Thanks for your response! Sounds like good stuff I'm going to contact mcx tomorrow. I would still like to here about some other kits out there before I go in for this large investment of fun.

Re: Turbo Kits

SLC
I had the kit installed fo I wanted to take advantage of my location in Utah. The computer chip is altitude compensated (as is the normal chip) and Cedar City is about 6,000 feet and I noticed when I went up to 10,000 feet the second day the boost did start anound 5mph earlier which indicated that the system was correcting for the lack of air.
