Re: Hunting with a RZR

you could tow an atv trailer also. Cabela's has one that has a 1250 lb capacity. I personally like the ATV Wagon high performance ATV trailers- ATV Dump Trailer - ATV Dumping Cart -Rhino UTV Trailer- Hunting Trailer - RZR side by side trailer -Utility Trailer-ATV Pull Behind Trailer and they have trailer brakes.

Never hunted with an atv. I'm a hiker. What do you do with your ride when you get off and hike. Chain it to a tree? A Camo tarp? Or just leave it in plain sight? I've heard too many horror stories about 'tweakers' in the woods.

Re: Hunting with a RZR

I use mine for hunting. half windshield, sport top. SS112 wheels, 28" zillas, 1" spacers on rear. No problem hauling a deer out of the woods. I do need help loading Bambi into the bed. I wrestled with a doe for 30 mins. getting her in the bed by myself last year. Be careful where you park. I made the mistake of parking within sight of my deer stand before and spent more time admiring my rzr than I did looking for game.

Re: Hunting with a RZR

If width isn't a problem and U are using it mostly for hunting, I would opt for the larger ranger for elk hunting. Using a RZR can be done with multiple trips or with the use of a good trailer though. I don't have a problem with deer sized animals but an elk would be a problem with the small bed of the RZR. Awwh heck, get the RZR and a trailer. When U are not hunting have fun riding!

Re: Hunting with a RZR

is it just wrong to just seatbelt your deer into the passenger seat?

Re: Hunting with a RZR

I have just a RZR, not an RZR-S. I use it for both riding and hunting. I do a lot of both. I find that the bed is too high to load a deer into myself. I usually drag the deer over to a strong tree branch, and throw my winch rope over it and lift it in the bed that way. This year I am going to buy a hitch basket. It sits much lower, and they make them 48: wide, so it will be not wider than the RZR. Then I can keep my storage box in the bed, and easily load a deer onto the hitch basket. I also have a soft cab kit by PRP. I like it because the doors and windows come off like Jeep doors. Real easy to use and modify, but your protected from the elements. I also bought a Mad Dog gun scabbard last year, and it works great. It doesn't bounce around if attached properly, and protects the gun great.

Re: Hunting with a RZR

I have hunted with a RZR and a Ranger and both have worked well for me. I put a polaris bed extender on my rzr and it works great for hauling deer out of the woods. As a dual purpose machine I prefer the RZR.
