Fitting inside a small toy hauler... how low can you go?
So, I have heard you can lower your air pressure, compress your back shocks, or even remove your roll cage, but im wondering those who have done it, how low can you go?
I would really like to get this toy hauler I found, but the entrance is 62.5" exactly, for about 3 feet, then it opens up way past 69", so it would just be to load/unload.
Any ideas? Anyone else experience this? How low can you get yours?
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Re: Fitting inside a small toy hauler... how low can you go?
That sounds like too much work to me, having to remove the cage or let the air out of the tires and shackel the springs to get it to fit every time you haul it. I would just go with a different trailer, even if the one you are considering was free. It doesn't sound like it is worth the headache. I had to buy another trailer when I got my RZR home and saw the one I had been using on my 4-wheeler was just barely long enough. That thing just wobbled back and forth any time I went over 70mph with it. I just bit the bullet and bought another....then made something up to tell the wife to justify it

Re: Fitting inside a small toy hauler... how low can you go?
Hehe.
Well, I have an enclosed trailer for day rides, duning, etc. that works fine.
This is for camping, long weekends and weekend trips. Drive 2+ hours up to the woods and stay several nights. So really, its load it once, then 2-4 days later load it again to come home.
I have heard some ppls rzrs after it breaks in, it sits 66" or at least lower than the 69" suggested.
Ultimately im just curious how tall peoples rzrs ACTUALLY measure with the shocks compressed, air out, etc. - or - if they have a similar issue and what solutions they had rendered them what results.

That's alot of work to do to load and unload. Go to a metal fabricator and either have him chop 4" off your current cage or have him build you something that works. Now it all might be a lil more money than you want to spend but at least it won't take 3 hours to get ready to load and 3 hours to get ready to unload and ready to ride when you're already excited to ride. Also you may not have much room in your toy hauler to move the cage around to get your machine out. Dig it!

Re: Fitting inside a small toy hauler... how low can you go?
This is the toy hauler I was thinking about :
It's a Dodge Sprinter. The normal roof model has a door frame height of 60" and the high-top version has a 70" opening. The Sprinter is pretty ugly and the high-top looks even worse but they ARE diesel and I'm told they get about 15mpg when hauling. Beats the heck out of the 10.5mpg I'm getting in my hemi Durango when pulling my trailer. To fit the low roof van I had decided to cut the rear of the Rzr cage just above the rear horizontal bar & add a set of joints there that would allow me to remove the top of the cage without disturbing the harnesses:
I was ready to pull the trigger on a trade when the wife fessed up she wouldn't feel safe traveling with a 1000 pound vehicle strapped down right behind the seats. Game over.
I'll be pulling my trailer forever...

Oh nah! You don't want a Sprinter. I looked at those. Those things have no power and are really only for light delivery. If you're looking for something like that get a good used Ford,Dodge or Chevy 12' or 14' cube van. That way you'll have ample power and even some room for parts, riding clothes and even make a bit of a bed and some storage for yourself! I'd say shy away totally from the Sprinter.

Get a set of 12" trailer tires (4.80x12 should be about 20" tall with air) and mount them on stock wheels. Changing 2 tires is alot easier than removing the cage. Local tire shop should seel them for less than 40 bucks each.

Re: Fitting inside a small toy hauler... how low can you go?
The Sprinter is made by Mercedes and has a Mercedes diesel. They're not quick but they ride good and have good power. A cube van is an idea I considered before but I'd need some real long ramps to get up in there, can only carry 3 occupants (max), and is even uglier than a Sprinter. LOL
