GPS mount?

Where I'll be, I'll need to have my Garmin GPS 76CSx mounted on the RZR. There's a thread here about the ram mounts.

Question I have is, on this one and adding the quick release mount: Ram Mounting Systems - Products

Question is, and I can't get a reply from ram, does the mount have access so that I can plug the 12V plug into the unit on the mount?

I "assume" so, but you know what that usually means.

Anyone know for sure?

Thanks

Re: GPS mount?

Where at on the rzr are you putting that mount? My dad has the same GPS he said he will give me... I want to buy that ram mount too but was curious where you want to mount it?

Re: GPS mount?

well.... see... it's kinda like this... I'm not totally sure yet 'cause I don't have the RZR yet.

But I know I need it given the area I'm going to be riding in. Get lost in those woods and you're toast, plus I have the trails marked as tracks, except for the 40 miles of new trails.

But, I'm thinking with the flat bolt on mount and/or quick release and/or double sided tape mount I should be able to figure out a way to mount it to the top of the dash somehow.

If not, I'll figure out something. I can let you know in a couple of weeks when the RZR comes in (hopefully) if you'd like.

Re: GPS mount?

I'm going just above and to the right of my stero head unit.

Re: GPS mount?

This is the one I'm thinking about getting for my Garmin 60CS. I thought about the suction cup, but not sure it would be stable enough. I don't want it vibrating while moving because then you can't read it.

Re: GPS mount?

yeah, I mis-spoke. I got the one like that for my GPSMAP 76CSx with the quick disconnect mount.
I think I read correctly that they work together. I wanna be able to take the GPS out quick so it can go with me for it's protection. I may have screwed up, but for 7 bucks I'm not gonna sweat it after what I paid for the RZR...

hmmm.... after looking at your pic, I may have gotten the wrong style of mount but maybe I can figure out a way to bolt it just to the left of the speedo, on top. Dunno, I'll have to see.

I tried using the RAM suction cup base on my Rzr's half-windshield--I think I made it a quarter mile before it came loose. Now I have the base that wraps around the roll cage, and have it mounted up near my rear view mirror.

To remove the GPS and cradle, all I have to do is loosen the "bar" between the base and cradle.

Re: GPS mount?

I have the 76 also. I mounted mine with the short extension to the top of the dash. When viewing it is to the top and side of the steering wheel when it is lowered a bit and sits behind the 1/2 windshield
