Side nets up or down when trailering?
Just wondered what everyone was doing with their side nets when trailering their RZR's. Seems like they take a pretty good beating when left up. Or is everyone just taking them off altogether?

Re: Side nets up or down when trailering?
The nets were installed on mine when I picked it up. In my opinion they suck. They're a pain in the ass to hook up and take off every time you get in. I don't think they would do a lot for you in a roll over any way. Mine are going in the trash where they belong.

Re: Side nets up or down when trailering?
I like my side nets but would prefer a door if they weren't so expensive. In a roll over at least the net will keep a limb from falling out (I hope anyway).
I travel at about 70 MPH with the nets in place and have logged just under 10K miles taking the RZR places to ride and my nets still look great.
I find it takes me longer to put on my helmet than to snap the side nets closed.

Re: Side nets up or down when trailering?
I'm thinking when mine comes in in a couple of weeks I'm going netless. Seem to be a pita to me. I'm not going to be running hard on the trails in the Adirondacks or on our property so I really don't see much benefit. Just my take on it.
Doors would be nice but they ain't cheap. I may look at building something once I get it and can study the setup a little more.

I do think they add to the overall appearance of the RZR, but they are a PITA.

Re: Side nets up or down when trailering?
mine were on my rzr on feb 1 08 when i picked up my rzr. i removed them for a few days. i know that they are not much protection. but after that short time without them my rzr looked strange to me so i reinstalled them..i do "feel" better with them on.
i also wish that doors were not so expensive.
i work in the metal fabrication industry.i believe if someone fabed up a set of doors ;just bars no skin;using a jig to mass produce them.
they could sell them for around $200.00 a set and sell so many they could make a bundle.
some people i believe are trying to make all their money on just a few sets of doors..
the place i work will not let us work on our own projects. i don`t have the room in my shop or the required welding and bending machines..

Re: Side nets up or down when trailering?
Dang scotty, if you figure out how to make 'em for that price put my name first on the list!
I agree, I'd like doors but I'm not paying those rip-off artists that much.

dont have to run it hard to flip it or hit somthing you really need to have somthing on there either the nets or doors the machine is narrow and your knee tends to hang out a bit and if a tree cliped your knee even at 5mph somthings gonna break nets or doors prevent that and keep your legs and arms in the rzr in a roll over and you can roll it even driving easy

Re: Side nets up or down when trailering?
ok, maybe I'll bow to experience and leave 'em on. At least for a while and try 'em
Sure seem like a pita though, wish someone would come up with *reasonably* priced tube frame doors for it.

Re: Side nets up or down when trailering?
Somehow I don't consider almost a grand *reasonable* for them, but thanks

Re: Side nets up or down when trailering?
I keep the nets on when trailering and have had no problem. They have stretched a bit since new and I have had to tighten them....no big deal. They are a bit of a PITA when getting in and out. I had a roll over on the drivers side and had a natural reaction to put my hand out and I hit the net. Glad I had them installed.

Re: Side nets up or down when trailering?
I find that my hand gets snagged by the net when I'm steering and you have to remember to fasten them before you fasten your harness as you can't move once your buckled in.
