Poping and clanking noise from left front?

I have a brand new 2008 with 48 hrs on it. It just started making this poping and clanking noise on the front left wheel. This is occuring when I make a full lock left turn. It is happening in 4x4 or 2x4 mode. What is going on? Do I need to check or correct something.

You either have a bad CV joint or broken front hub, either way you need to jack up your RZR and fix it quickly before you do more damage or are left stranded on the trail. My bets are on one of the the CV joints, probably the outer one.
Just wondering how can you have a new 08 with 48hrs? Its 2010 and 48 hrs is certainly not a new ride or do you mean you just purchase a used RZR that is new to you.

I bought it new from a dealer about 5.5 months ago I guess I better get it in before the warranty runs out.

Just my luck go figure, After looking it was bought on 8/29/2009 it appears my warranty ran out 2 weeks ago. Darn it................ I guess all that power drifting in the snow did in the cv joint.

Try graesing the wheel bearing mine did the same thing when i turned. took it apart and greased it and it was cured

my friend had the same prob, talked to the dealer and they sent him a shim, no charge, took care of it instantly no more popping clunking.

Sorry for my ignorance I'm a rookie and have only changed the air filter & oil so far. Were does the shim go? Another words what was making the noise on you friends RZR?

A new 08 ........imagine that!
Here you go, way back in the early days this was a well known issue. Luckily if this is your problem it is cheap and easy.

Thanks Guys. I called my dealer and he said that they had to do this to a couple of machines they have sold. He ask for my VIN number to determine if my 2008 is one of the models that could have this issue. Apparently it was corrected some time in 2008 production. I didn't have the vin number will call the dealer again tommorrow. I will check it out this evening to see if there are signs of it being something else like a cv joint. Thanks again for the help. Sense I didn't buy a warnanty I'll have to learn how to work on these bad boy toy's.

hard to grease a sealed bearing dont ya think??????????????

It was the splines on the shaft that i ended up greasing not the wheel bearing, I thought it was the wheel bearing my bad

2008's are notorious for having a popping noise from the front. The shim fixes them because it allows the castle nut to torque up properly.

Thanks for the heads up atvkris the spacer did the trick. I didn't even have a socket to fit the nut to use my torque wrench. I just grapped a 1-1/16 wrench and snucked it on and wala it is quite as a mouse. Cost 1.34
