I want to get a rzr but am contemplating whether I should wait a few months. Right now is a great time to buy because of the 3.99% financing Polaris is offering but I wont use the rzr until about September / October. Do you guys think the 09 rzr will be much different from the 08? Better Air filter design, etc. When does Polaris typically release their next years models? Anyone know if Suzuki plans to get into the UTV market in the next 2-3 years?

If your not going to use it untill sept, I would wait. Your warranty will be almost over before you use it if you buy it now.

Does anyone know if the 09's are any different?

I'm in the same boat. My dealer can not deliver until August at the earliest and I'm not too trusting so I bet he is being optomistic. I don't want the warranty to expire and the value to evaporate while it is parked in the garage and too cold to ride. But it is a frustration!

My dealer knows I want the first RZR delivered in spring of 2009 and I'll give him a deposit on that soon.

So I am waiting. And I am accumulating ancillary stuff. I have so far bought a canvas cab and a trailer. Some stuff I am going to wait and see what changes in 2009.

In the meantime, this forum is my "virtual RZR". I find it kind of inadequate in the excitement department but enjoying you guy's experiences vicariously is better than nothing and I have learned a lot in just about 3 weeks.

I take a little comfort in hoping that the 2009 RZRs will be a little better than the 2008s.

Why couldn't ya ride her in the winter? I heard there great fun in the snow.

There are a few places to ride around here on the plains where I suppose one could ride. Mainly it would be going around in circles on a small piece of land which only has limited appeal to me. The vast majority of land is private.

Most of the best places to ride are in the Bighorn Mountains. There is a fantastic ATV trailsystem up there which I can't wait to explore:

There are still 40" of snow at my cabin and drifts to 10'. It is snowmobile season.

I am now going to proceed to eat my words from this morning.

I dropped by my dealer this afternoon and he is singing a new tune. He was telling me last week that the earliest he could get one was August. But he now says that he had been allocated two additional RZRs from the Minniapolis/North Dakota region and that these had cleared his backlog and he now has a red RZR coming the end of June and he also now has my deposit for said red RZR .

So now I just have to re-arrange my finances because this is about 10 months earlier than I had previously been thinking.

I'm sure my wife is going to be REALLY proud of me when she gets home from work. But Johnny said I could lay the blame on him.

CONGRADULATIONS!!! I pick mine up on the 25th. There's gonna be a whole lot of sleepless nights till then.

I have a hard time waiting for something like this. I had to wait about two months to get mine, but I have a Ranger 700 so I still had a great toy to play with while waiting. I saw one in a dealership in Ukiah, CA last week and it was sold the very next day. Perhaps Polaris will correct the air intake situation and insulate or move the exhause pipe from the plastic rear fender by then. And make it easier to change oil and filter.

The only hold up for me is financing and any inprovements over the 08 model. I have excellent credit, but I know if I wait I'll be paying around 9% APR. So 3.99% is very tempting to me.

I was in the same boat but decided to go ahead and get one today. I did ask the dealer if he knew of any changes for the 09 model. The only change that he said he knew about was dealing with the touchy gas pedal, said they were going to add a heel cup. Seems to me it just needs a stiffer spring.

Haven't ridin' it in two years..think it's a skidoo 580? But buying a new one for this winter.
