RZR Heater

I have been doing some research on some heaters and found one from Flex-a-lite. It looks like a good setup and looks to be a popular set up in jeeps. The heater sells for $160.00 and also had a duct kit that can be bought seperatly. Does any body know how to plumb this in the the heater system in the rzr. Some of the heaters out on the market run from 300.00 to 450.00 this could be a cheaper install for about half the dollars. Any help would help before the chill season starts.

Re: RZR Heater

There is a post on here about a heater you can get at jc whitneys its a 3 speed and costs 100-200 and the quality is 10 times the polaris heater.

Re: RZR Heater

I have a second radiator inside the car working as heater and it works perfect. I ca show you some picks if you want.

Another cheap solution is this one:

Re: RZR Heater

I just got one with my beaver pro cab kit. It looks just like this.

The install was great, comes with all plumbing and fittings to tap into heater hoses. Pretty easy install overall.

Re: RZR Heater

I like this one from rangerware 2008-10 POLARIS RANGER RZR 800 CAB HEATER WITH DEFROST!:eBay Motors (item 300361675212 end time Nov-27-09 12:01:54 PST)

It has a windshield defrost. Haven't tryed one personally, but I like how it's setup.
I've seen these go from Breese for $350 or less.

Re: RZR Heater

If you go to Flex-a-lite web you can look at the heaters that I have been looking at. The heater offers more heat and defrost ducts. The unit from summit racing is about 160.00. I found a post on the rhino forum with one installed and he said it worked great. Just looking for the perfect setup.

Re: RZR Heater

When looking at the rangerware unit on the web it looks like it takes up the storage area in the front under the hood. Can anyone confirm if it takes all that space or if it is mounted below the "trunk" in the front?

Re: RZR Heater

I run the Rangerware heater on a 2008 Gen 3, it does not take up the storage area, but it is a snug fit.

I have been looking at that heater, however I do have a question.

Do you have any pics of it installed?

It looks like from the picks on eBay the fans are exposed to the elements, mud, snow and water.

And if it has the fan intake outside of the cab it would not re-circulate the heat...am I seeing it wrong?

I like that cab, how is it? I'm looking to by a cab.

I really want the Bestop soft cab, but the looks of the Beaver Pro is great!

Does it rattle or squeak? How about when you take it of in the summer are there a lot of holes or bracket left behind?

Doe's the heater keep the cab comfortable, how did you fill all of the hole that are in the RZR floor and under the dash?

Is yours on a RZR or RZR S?

Will you post up some pics of you cab installed?

Thanks

Dan

Sorry no pics..
It is exposed but has held up well for over a year of use. It uses outside air but has no problems keeping my soft side cab warm, I have used it at -15F pushing snow. The problem with using outside air is if it grabs snow dust or water from splashing it steams the windshield instantly - suprisingly that is not often. If that doesn't answer your questions let me know.
