09? Throttle body

So I have an 09 RZR that I bout in late August last year. Even says 09 on the title. I have the heel pocket in the floor, I also have the welded hitch. I also have the new style throttle cable. However when putting on my UMP the other night I realized I didn't have the accordian style intake boot to the throttle body. It also did not have the lip on the throttle body to help keep the boot on. Anyone else not have those updates on an 09? Just curious.

Re: 09? Throttle body

From what I understand the airbox upgrades started in mid Sept. So that would mean you just missed them. However, I think there's some upgrades & extended warranty (for dust ingestion only) available to you through Polaris if it hasn't expired yet. Here's some info on it http://www.rzrforums.net/general-rzr...ranty-ext.html

I was fortunate to be just on the other side with my '09. It was built about 2 weeks after the upgrades, so they are on mine. I didn't know about the airbox problems till after I bought it.

Re: 09? Throttle body

I had same issue on my 09 RZR , it was miising the new boot, look on the bright side though the earlier 09s do not have the latest secondary clutch, they still have a team roller rather than the popo crap. I purchase 9/10/08 and unit was built in 07/08

Re: 09? Throttle body

Latest secondary clutch does not have a seperate helix and team roller, this is now all a single part cast into the sheave. If you want to do clutch work you need to change the sheave, Dale does have kits to do this but it will cost you approximately $200 more than if you have the old system. Look at the new microfiche for the 09 secondary clutch and you will see the difference

The standard RZR has the Rapid release secondary which is the cheap design and the "S" has the Team secondary clutch, it has the better design with the separate helix and is easily upgraded

Re: 09? Throttle body

The sad thing is the price of the clutches is the same, at least they are if you buy them as service parts. I'm sure polaris gets them cheaper though.

SKU: 1322835
[Incl. 7-11][Built 1/001/08 and After] 1 $290.62

2 SKU: 1322707
ASM-CLUTCH,DRIVEN,EBS,DAMPED [Incl. 6,8-19][Built 9/30/08 and Before] 1 $290.62

Re: 09? Throttle body

I don't care about the $20 boot. I just put on a UMP. I just wish I had the lip on the throttle body to make sure the boot will never slip off. Not a big deal. Just wierd how many versions there are during each year.
