You're right... I had about 50K in money tied up in that car. Not because I expected to get any of it back, but because I loved it.

Sold it for $18,000...

Plus, if I was looking to buy an STI... I wouldn't take anything except a bone stock one.

I checked the July 2009 issue of Road & Track Road Test Summary (page 114-115). A WRX STI goes from 0 -- 60 in 5.0 seconds and a quarter-mile in 13.6 seconds at 98.2 mph (R. & T. 3-08).

A BMW M3 goes from 0 -- 60 in 4.6 seconds and a quarter-mile in 13.0 seconds at 110.4 mph. (R. & T. 6-08).

The Road & Track did not list the times for a BMW M5 or a MB E55 AMG, but if senility has not set in and memory serves me correctly, according to the road tests in the relevant automotive magazines, a BMW M5 does the quarter-mile in approximately 12.5 seconds and a Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG does a quarter-mile in approximately 12.1 – 12.3 seconds.

yeah but that is the new sti, the older sti is faster. 13.3 at 103... roughly, drop $1,000 into it and you are in the low 12's trapping 115

besides the price of our car, we have $16,000 into our 07 sti ($8,600 crate motor etc) we cant get $25,000 for it. its stripped down at ballistics performance, were gonna part it out instead. atleast all the mods. then sell the car stock.

That is the best way to go. People will not pay money for a modded car, but they will buy the mods.
