Question On 08 RZR Roll Cage
I have been looking at a lot of pictures on the internet of the RZR, and there are two different styles of Roll Cages. I am a little confused because the roll cage shown in my brochure I got from the dealer is totally different from most of the pictures of the stock RZR on the internet. I did read somewhere on a magazine review that they thought the roll cage was ugly. Were they talking about maybe the 07 cage, and they changed it on the 08?
This is the one I see in most pics on the net
This is the roll cage pictured on my 08 brochure.... I like it a lot better than the one with all the woops and bends. I has a much flatter top. So which one actually comes on the 08?

Re: Question On 08 RZR Roll Cage
There all the same brother. Just different angles. Polaris only offers 1 cage. Lots of aftermarket cages though.

Re: Question On 08 RZR Roll Cage
Its the same roll cage. No changes to the rollcage were made from gen1 to gen2. In the lower pic the unit has the rear assy. rack on the bed, but its the same cage as above.

Re: Question On 08 RZR Roll Cage
I think ARZEEAR is right. Take a closer look at the brochure picture. The fore and aft bars between the front and back apear to be welded in components verses the bent rear bar going forward. The brochure pic must have been pre production drawing or picture.

Re: Question On 08 RZR Roll Cage
there are actually two cages.. the pre-production cages were a little different than the post prodcution cages.. that first pic is a pre-production cage. not a whole lot of differences, the biggest diff though is the cross bar that goes behind the seats. the old cage didnt have that 1.5" bar all of the production units have it.

Re: Question On 08 RZR Roll Cage
I knew there was a difference. Look closely guys, the one in the first pic goes way up high compared to the others, looks like maybe 6 or 7 inches. If you do some research, you'll see it goes in and out on the side top bars where the other doesn't. I do not like that first one, I think it's ugly. Too many woops in it too.
So this is the old one....right? I hope mine doesn't look like this when it arrives.

Re: Question On 08 RZR Roll Cage
what you're seeing from the first picture is actually camera angle..
the cage bends are the same.. the crossbar is the difference.
i've found two different picture of approximately the same angle but show the angle on the top of the cage.
the first picture is an early production rzr (probably an early april baby)
the second is a pre prodcution rzr used for testing

as you can see the cage bends are the same. it wouldnt make sense for them to change that or none of the aftermarket tops would fit right.

Re: Question On 08 RZR Roll Cage
Thanks Martymoe
That was the first thing that crossed my mind. If you had a different cage, nothing would fit it. Thanks everyone
