you could gain a hole in your piston along with a little hp. carefull with k&n filter the oil can build up on your mass air flow and wack it out.

WOW i did not know that about the k&n filter.
i had one in my 700 sportsman for 5 years so with good results.
i thought one in my rzr would work also..

does anyone think i should take it out?

if i take it out what is the BEST filter to put back in its place? thanks!!

Re: k&n filter and baffel?????

all though there is a k&n air filter myth i do use one on my rzr. I dont like the fix thay did on the air box recall. k&n works great at trapping dust. im just saying if it starts running funny check into it. here is some info from k&n.

K&N Response to Mass Air Flow Sensor Concerns also carberated modle's dont have mass air flow sensor's. if your sportsman is 5yrs old it would have a carb. hope info helps and like i say i took the $100 plunge and bought a k&n filter and cleaning kit.

if you take baffle out make sure engine is not running lean. you may have to remap. also you could have loss of torque and mid range power.GREAT know you have me thinking about pulling baffle and modifing it. I have done this in the past. if you keep a little back pressure and make sure its not two lean. it can help your hole shot. but you may have a little loss on top end.
