I'm only wanting to buy doors one time----and have had some good advise and comment about different brands and different vendors but now I'm wondering whether to get the full height door or some that are 'cut' down' ? I'm wondering if I'd be bumping my elbow on the hi door and whether the reason for the "cut down" door is to provide space for the forearm and elbow? Comments for or against either style would be appreciated.
I thought I would like the lower profile doors. But I got a great deal on Toys for Big Boyz doors which are full height. I love 'em. Perfect height to use as an armrest and excellent protection. I vote full height.
For racing, the full height doors are a good choice. For the other 99% of us, maximum visibility with the slightly shorter doors works best. My Pure Polaris doors are about perfect. Also great arm rests.
I have the utv inc full doors and they are perfect. I can rest my elbow on the top rail and very easily see over to watch wheel placement. I never hit my elbow as the bow provides plenty of room. The mud and branches nail the door that without them would be nailing you. I would get full size doors.
I prefer my proarmor full doors for 2 reasons. We have several kids 3 to 12 that ride in our rzrs at any time. The full doors add a good saftey factor for the kid. I dont have to worry about them leaning out or a tree limb wacking them in the chest or face. Its not fool proof but it makes me feel much better. Plus the over protective parent sees the big doors the 4 point harness booster seat and the 6 different helmets they feel much better about some trips around the yard. The only kids that ride off road with us is our 3 year old and 10 year old sister in law. The 3 year old spends more time riding in the rzr than most adults get to.
I just installed utv inc doors on mine and im pleased with the amount of bow in the frame. My arm rubbed on the net and drove me crazy. Im only 5'6" and they are at a comfortable height to rest my arm on. I how ever dont have the visibility of the front tire like I did when strapped in with the 4 point harness. Thats something I will have to get used to. With the stock seat belt, I would be able to see over the door just fine.
