I went ahead and ordered a kit (mudatv)since I was having trouble finding black pipe in my area. I sawed off the top of my air intake like the instructions say but now it wants me to put a 3 x 2 coupler. The coupler is way to big unless it wants me to go down past the second lip?
I think maybe the intakes have changed and I just need to go buy another 2 inch coupler.

Also on the cvt intake the 3 x 2 is definately made for it but do I still go below the lip or let the coupler rest on top?

I'm at a dead stop so thanks for the help. 2008 model by the way.

If I am not mistaken I think I did use a 2" coupling on my intake. I dont think a 3 x 2 will work. You are right you have to use the 3 x 2 on the cvt intake. Make sure you put some kind of sealer on the inside of the coupling and put it down as far as you can. It will look like it is not going to work but just tighten the clamp as much as you can.

you can use a 3x2 if you don't cut the duct but the fit is lousy and may leak. If you cut the duct in half then a 2x2 coupler is a good fit.

On the CVT duct the 3x2 fits better. I don't remember if it's because of the shape of the top or the fact that it's much more flexible and will conform to the coupler when squeezed by the clamp.

So I guess my 08 was late enough that it has the 09 intake on it. The guy at mud atv was really helpfull and gave me his cell phone number to call if I needed him to ship me the 2 x 2 this morning. I found one at the local hardware store so I'm set now. Thanks for the responses.
