Exactly. Medical payments coverage would have applied first, there is no need to determine fault for that, but your bills have eclipsed the highest limit of Medical Payments there is. This is where GUEST RIDER LIABILITY coverage becomes important, it is generally written at the same limits as the Bodily Injury Liability is, and is broader than the basic bodily injury liability which is really in place to cover bodily injury suffered by a rider/operator of another vehicle that the insured's vehicle negligently collided with, or otherwise caused to crash.

If your policy does not list Guest Rider Liability as a separate coverage, then find another policy.

Last but not least, always sign up for the maximum Bodily Injury Liability, Guest Rider Liability, and Medical Payments that is offered you. This is the cheapest insurance you can buy, until it is needed and you did not buy it.

Re: Do you carry insurance on your RZR

I believe just about anyone can now get USAA insurance. That's where I have mine insured. Simple to get the AZ insurance declaration to get AZ plates.

Not the cheapest at $513 a year, but then I carry $300K-$500K liability and the max underinsured motorist. Good ol' CYA
