Poll: Forum problems? Please take

ok, several folks have said that the forum is down a lot for them, I've never had a problem since I joined.

Things like this just kinda bug me and I'm sure people having issues would like them resolved. So please take the time to answer. It may show a trend.

Do you have trouble connecting to this site?

Everybody's looking but not many are taking the 2 seconds it takes to reply.

Unless things pick up, it's highly unlikely that any reasonable conclusions will be able to be drawn

I'm tryin' to help you folks having trouble, but without facts, I'm just guessing....

Re: Poll: Forum problems? Please take

The poll only allows one choice and none were correct for me so I chose "other". Specifically:
At work I can sometimes connect, sometimes not. W98 & 2000 using Firefox or IE (recent updates. Work internet is through a proxy server. No problems connecting to any other forums or sites.

At home with XP on Firefox or IE, never a problem.

Re: Poll: Forum problems? Please take

I access from three computers, have had intermittent problem with all three. I find that the sight will appear to be down for 30 minutes or so with no regularity, but atleast once a week.

Work - XP, IE Giant DS3 pipe
Home- Vista, IE Verizon Cellular Broadband
Vehicle- XP, IE AT&T 3G Card

And yes, I responded to the poll

Very little trouble here XP IE on laptop, home and work computers.

Maybe it has more to do with connection speed??

Sometimes at night I am unable to get in to the sight so I go to my email
and use the link on a saved email from RZR forums.net. That always works
for me.

Re: Poll: Forum problems? Please take

I have intermittent troubles on one computer running XP and IE and another using Vista and IE. Both share the same internet connection through Bresnan Cable.

The problem seems to be a DNS problem where the site is not found from the DNS servers.

I have done DNS lookups for an IP address. When I use the IP address instead of the www.rzrforums.net address I end up at your web hosting service. I can't even get to rzrforums when I click on your link from their web page. But interestingly I can get to the websites of some of their other clients.

Re: Poll: Forum problems? Please take

No probs and I use Firefox with XP 64 BIT the worst and biggest nightmare of AN OS. Funny thing was I went to upgrade to Vista 64 and it said that microsoft doesn't support and upgrade from 64 xp... LoL The company that makes it DOESN't SUPPORT IT ROFL!

Ok so if you are using IE switch to firefox because most trojans and cookies that hurt your pc are for IE because 95% of people use it. The same reason there isn't many viruses for MACS. Its not because a mac is any good, its because why would someone waste there time writing a virus for 1% of computer users using a mac :P

Re: Poll: Forum problems? Please take

Sorry - been away for a bit.

Well... so much for that thought. I was hoping this would show a trend pointing toward a particular browser and/or Op Sys but from the looks of it, that's not the case.

As someone said below it probably has something to do with some sites name servers which there's not much this site can to about.

Sorry guys, it was worth a try.

Some hackers might be anarchists but I think most just like a challenge and the notoriety among their peers.
