Re: UHMW A Arm Guards

Here are pictures of a set of rear UHMW A-Arm/CV Boot Gaurds. They are constructed from 3/8 inch UHMW, offer CV boot protection as well as skid protection for the A-arms and will compliment our skid package to give you FULL under carriage coverage for your RZR. Mounting hardware will be recessed and bolt on. We are now taking orders for full set's of 4. $179 retail, $164 forum member's + shipping.

Re: UHMW A Arm Guards

I recently installed a set of the A arm guards on my 09 RZR. I think the A arm guards and the skid plate from FUTV are well made products. However, I am not 100% happy with the A arm guards as they fall short in coverage area that other A arm guards don't. Specifically in covering the CV boot on the front and back of the vehicle. I opted to leave the flimsy stock CV guard in place on the front and rear and install the A arm guards until I can fab or purchase an aluminum or UHMW piece that provides CV boot coverage.

One other draw back I found is the rear guards use existing holes in the A arm as mounting points. Unfortunately, 1 of those holes is directly under the lower rear shock mount. With my WER shocks in place it is impossible to install the nylock nut on the bolt without completely removing the tire and removing/loosening the shock. Not my idea of a simple "bolt on", but the 3 other mounting points are straight forward and hold the guard on firmly.

I would also recommend that a few drain holes be added to the bottom side of the guards. As it is, they act as a shelf for dirt/mud/dust. After my install I went for a quick spin in the desert and found a good inch+ of Arizona Talcum powder dust resting on them when I got back home. I can only imagine what guys who go mudding would find there after a deep mud hole.

I think with small modifications to the existing A arm guard design, they could be as outstanding as the Skid plate FUTV offers.

I will also say that FUTV provided me with fantastic customer support when I had a few issues with the A arm guards holes lining up(they were off on the first set I got) and getting the correct front diff skid plate to me quickly.
