Crow Safety Equipment
We are very happy to announce that Factory UTV has signed on as a dealer for Crow Safety Gear. As usual we'll hook up forum members with the best prices on Crow products. Once you've strapped into a 4 or 5 point harness you'll never settle for a stock UTV seat belt again. Because nothing is more important than your safety!

Re: Crow Safety Equipment
Sounds good. Your UHMV skid plate is absolutely awesome. I don't worry about going over sharp object or rocks now as it slides over anything that touches it now. I did have to drill a couple of holes where the Polaris bumper mounts up but it works fine. Not as nice as your holes as I did't get it quite right the first time but it works.
I'm seriously looking at putting a set of 5 point harnesses on the RZR. My only question is where do you mount the lower strap to? AL Last edited by alelks; August 3rd, 2008 at 08:34 AM. |

Re: Crow Safety Equipment
Whats the current cost for a set of 5 point with a Y-harness including the custom attachments for the sub belt. Also are these 2" or 3" belts? Thanks! AL |

Re: Crow Safety Equipment
These can be either 2 or 3 inch belts, whatever the personal preference. I like the 3's for no real reason other than looks and I like the bigger pads. Are you married to the Y-belt idea? I really don't care for them on the stock RZR hi-backs. Much prefer the 2 into 2 shoulder belts for the stock RZR seats. Let me know and I'll work something up for you Al.

Re: Crow Safety Equipment
2 or 3 inch? Sewn in harness pads or velcro? Installatrion is very straight forward and yes we'll include instructions. Really a sound safety investment for the RZR by the way whether you buy from us or not. Let me work up a forum member price and post here with pictures...

Re: Crow Safety Equipment
3" and I'm really not sure about sewn in pads or velcro yet so give me a price for both.
There is a company (I can't remember which one for the life of me right now) that makes a billet plug that goes in the stock seat that lets the Y-harness pass through and anchor behind the seat. I am assuming you like the two strap setup due to the lack of the pass through in the stock seat. Given that option would you recommend the Y-Harness or the two strap set? Thanks, AL EDIT: Ahhhhh! Here it is:

Re: Crow Safety Equipment
We had a customer order the Y-Harness and without the pass through I didn't like it at all, in fact we sent the Y-strap back and got him a duel strap setup and he sent me an e-mail tonight telling me he was really happy with it. The Y-Harness should work great with the UTV Crap billet piece though, just not the stock seat. My personal RZR has 2 belt slots in the seats so the 2 strap works the best for that setup obviously. I like the idea of two straps holding me in, but I'm sure the Y-Strap is more than strong enough to do the job.

Re: Crow Safety Equipment
BTW Fred Crow recommends the shoulder straps be attached at a point at or below level with your shoulders. Unless you are very tall you can't quite get that with them attached to the roll bar.

Re: Crow Safety Equipment
What didn't you/he like about the Y harness? I tried both types and couldn't really tell any difference in the Rzr. But this was with 2" straps...I might have felt different about the placement of the wider 3" straps.

Re: Crow Safety Equipment
Ahhh...does the 3" kit come with the bolt-down lug included like in the 2" kit? Attach the tail to the frame behind the seat and the length isn't an issue:
![]() ![]() Both types mounted for testing...just curious:
