Our UHMW skids are recessed at the mounting locations to help keep the bolt heads out of harms way. Our skids weigh just slightly more than half what the standard full coverage aluminum skids weigh as UHMW is significantly lighter than aluminum. The UHMW is a super tuff, super slick plastic than won't "hang" on rocks like aluminum does.

Can you take a look at this thread?

I hit the bottom of the RZR with a rock and damaged the engine, even with the skid plate, how did this happen?

Re: Factory UTV UHMW Skid Plates

Yeah it must be because I was looking around the site earlier today. The only thing holding up my purchase is whether I'm going with the 1/2" or 3/8. It seems that most guys are running the 3/8 plate but it would be nice to have that extra insurance but I dont do any hardcore desert racing so 3/8 should be ok.

Re: Factory UTV UHMW Skid Plates

I have 3/8" and they have taken a beating on rocks in the desert and big boulders on technical trails they have never failed or damaged anything above the skids

Hey Bob how long do they take to ship out? Are these in stock? I will probably order them tomorrow or Tuesday. Is there a forum member discount?
