Tell tale signs you need a new belt?

I just opened up my clutch and everything look clean and the belt to me a novice looks brand new. I purchased the the rzr with 1800 miles, 111 hours. It now has 3000 miles and 177 hours.
How do I tell if I need to replace the belt. I still runs fine, no issues just wanted to stay on top on maintenance. Thanks for your replies

I noticed mine having a sluggish take off, its like it took more pedal to get going. Other than that I don't know, the sportsmans I had gave no signs they just shredded. I was in the same boat you're in about 2 months ago, just so happened to find a member wanting to get rid of a belt cheap so I threw it on and now use my original for a spare.

Re: Tell tale signs you need a new belt?

I'm sluggish on take off as well. I think it may be a throttle cable adjustment. I completed forgot to pull the gasket when I started it without the cover. shredded the gasket instantly.
Anyone know the best place and price in a replacement?
Also any tricks on getting the bottom two bolts back in?

Yea that should bring her back to life. I know it did mine, I adjusted the throttle cable an put on the new belt at the same time too. The bottom bolts didn't give me much trouble, I guess I got lucky!

I put a magnet in the socket that I use to put the bolts back in the cover.

This link might help.

I keep the kit with the belt in the LnR cargo box.

Re: Tell tale signs you need a new belt?

Look at the sides of the belt. If you see hourglassing, glazing, cracks, seperations, then replace it. Since your in there already, I would install a new belt and use the old belt for a spare. Thx.

Re: Tell tale signs you need a new belt?

Thanks for the great replies. I've been reading BlackBarts treads on clutching. Great stuff. I probable should of started there.
Any way my belt that I may replace is number 3211118 which is for an 2009 700 xp. I may of been running the wrong belt. seems to of worked fine though.
