Power Commander
Anyone running the Power Commander on their RZR? I have used it on Harley's and have freinds that use it on their quads.

Re: Power Commander
I have used it on my Harley w/mods with good results and also used it on my King Quad w/no mods and no results. I think you have to add some mods like air system, exhaust etc... to make a difference. No mods= no results.

Re: Power Commander
The PC is the way to go for sure. It is well known the RZR is fat as a pig stock on fuel. Adding the PC and running the base map you can download from their website will if nothing else make a nice improvemnt in gas mileage and a hair on performance. Add mods and it gets even better. Do a custom dyno tune with it for your machine and it gets even better. Talk to Kelly at KMS a she did mine. FYI its the same PC unit that they use on the XP Ranger. There is no doubt the PC is better than all the other fuel controllers out there ... the others are all Dobeck based controllers with whatever manufactures sticker put on them and they offer very limited adjustability ... the PC allows literally unlimited adjustability for now and whatever you do in the future ... it does not matter which exhaust, etc. you get ... use the PC. Did I mention its just plain cool too ... the PC interface is sweet. If anyone wants to run my dyno tuned map let me know but it is always better to get it down for your machine as each differs slightly. I also run one on my Zuki LTR450 and it is amazing. FYI I ha donly a Dragon Fire complete exhaust and UNI filter as mods when doing this dyno. We suspect a stock RZR whould have dyno'd at about 28hp on this dyno ... 6-7hp is a big increase.
Here are my dynos ... unfortunetly did not get a stock run done as dyno was down ... this is base PC RZR map vs. custom KMS tuned map with my exhaust/filter mods only ... you can see from this it really does help just in tuning it neverless the immediate gain you have to assume is there from stock to base map:
Here are torque numbers but its kinda invalid the way a CVT works:
Here is some comparison to other CVT machines that also had mods for the heck of it:
Here is my KMS tuned map screenshot:
And while we are on the dyno subject this is nice to know. Its a CVT clutch profile rzr vs. rhino ... rzr its literally perfect in theory. It has an initial hit, a slight but steady drop off, and then another little hit at the end. Compared it to the Rhino which is its all over the place ... this Rhino even had the PDM clutch and alot of adjustments done to it to get it that good ... its why the Rhinos regardless of what you do to them have a very hard time getting the power to the ground:

Re: Power Commander
I have had good luck with the power commander on my RZR it is more precisely tunable than the DFR or Big Gun but you have to have a p c or lap top to tune it!!

Greg can you get the Power Commander? and of course the cost.
I am also interested in the LCD that plugs into it. Not sure why but it looks cool...

Re: Power Commander
i have the powercommander and the wideband commander as well as the mf hub and the lcd.. also got the cable to tie the wbc and pc together so i get data from both in the lcd at the same time..
i log with the lcd and get all of my data in one log file..
i wrote my own software to both build dynamic fuel maps and to graph runs for clutch tuning and to see where and how much power i'm making..
i love it.. it works very well.
the image below represents a 15 sec slice of a run.. not a full power run just playing around. the top graph shows engine rpms vs transmission rpms
the middle one is vehicle accelleration in ft/sec/sec
the last graph shows ground speed, throttle position and cvt load
cvt load i calculated from transrpm and engine rpm. that little green line tells me what my transmission is doing (what gear i'm in)

Re: Power Commander
Marty did you have to install an O2 sensor for the Wideband controller?

Re: Power Commander
