Front wheel bearing replacement

Hey guys Im new here! Had a question about the 2009 RZR 800 le I just purchased. I noticed some play in the front left wheel bearing so decided to instal a new one. Everything went well I thought until I put it all back together and the wheel rubs on the tie rod end slightly for 4-5 inches every revolution??
I thought if the bearing was pressed in all the way and the axle tightened back up the hub would be centred?? The axle is not centred in the bearing after its all retorqued?? Does anyone have any ideas for me? pls help!!

Re: Front wheel bearing replacement

If I recall there was a split in early 09 where they went to a thicker hub which used a larger sized ID bearing. If this is the case you have to buy the hub as a kit and it will come with the bearing. The hub should fit snug as it slide into the bearing if there is slop its wrong...good luck

Re: Front wheel bearing replacement

Sounds like you have the new style bearing with the old style hub. Pull it back apart and measure the Id of the bearing and the OD of the Hub.

Re: Front wheel bearing replacement

I'm surprised the dealer had a bearing for you. You can't get the original bearing, you have to buy the new carrier and bearing. Its an upgrade.

There were problems with the axle slines being too long and the axle nut wouldn't pull the axle, carrier, and hub together tightly. Thus the wheel will rock top to bottom even with the axle nut properly torqued.

Check the Polaris Parts | Polaris Accessories | ATV Parts | Ranger Parts | RZR Parts | Athens, OH 888-284-8219 website and make sure the bearing you have is the correct one, if its the new one...which I'll bet it is, then you need a new style carrier. Buying it will make for less problems in the future.
