09 air system
We will be buying a new RZR (standard 50in) next month and was wondering if the 09 owners were satisfied with the changes Polaris made to their air filtration system or are there still problems? Also anyone that got the cyclone type air system has had any problems with that? Did they keep the factory snorkel? thanks for your input, gerry

Mine is already screwed. I have to clean my TB every 5 hours and refill the oil as it burns about 2 qaurts per 5 hours of riding. I plan to pull it down this weekend and see what is going on. My verdict is 09's have just as many dust problems. The verdict is still out on the DFR airbox, I plan to keep using it once I freshin the motor so I will see how it does (everyone else seems to have great luck with it). I am hoping my problems occured within the first 10 hours of riding with the stock air box setup. Last edited by B-rad; December 2nd, 2008 at 10:29 AM. |

Re: 09 air system
I have about 20 hours on my 09.
After the first very dusty ride I had just very small amounts of fine dust in the tb. I mounted an automotive type fram filter over the intake hole in the airbox after seeing it done here on the forum. I have not any problems since and most of my riding so far has been in very dusty conditions. I have checed the filter and tb religiously after each ride but confidence is high that there is no problem and I won't have to do that anymore. |
