Dragonfire Turbo

Purchased and installed Dragonfire Turbo Kit. My questions is: Does the fuel controller included in the kit(has extra wires not being used) allow for the addition of the extra injector and the air/fuel meter. I am currently getting about 9 lbs of boost but would like to get more. I am not concerned about making changes to the engine if needed. I would like to get about 12lbs of boost and I know I need the extra injector to get it. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Dragonfire Turbo

No extra wires with mine. Just wires for injectors, ground and map tube for boost from the turbo.

Re: Dragonfire Turbo

Mine has additional two wires which almost look as if they would go to another injector and then another single white wire with a plug and the male end of the plug was included which can be attatched to another wire. The boost line and the injector wires are hooked up to the machine. How much boost are you getting out of yours? Which clutch set-up are you running.

Re: Dragonfire Turbo

I have the DFR stage III with 80gram weights and have boost set at 7 1/2 to 8 under a load. Stock is set up at about 6 1/2 to 7. I added a manual boost controller to make it easier to adjust with altitude changes and lowered the wastegate boost. Not sure about the additional wires, but you can try to call Derek at ATV/Snowmobile EFI Controllers & Turbo Kits - Attitude Industries - Tuning Solutions as he is the one that is providing the fuel controllers for DFR unless they have changed.... He is hard to get hold of but be persistant.

Re: Dragonfire Turbo

Yes I tried to call him earlier today. I also talked with Dragonfire and they are going to help me with getting the boost up to about 12lbs. I am going to go ahead and build the engine to handle it. Thanks for the info. Still trying to find out what the extra wires are for. I may take a pic of them and post them on here. Where did you get the manual boost control? Where does it hook up in the system?

Re: Dragonfire Turbo

I got this one. Best on the market and you are able to adjust boost in very small incriments and no boost spiking.

I gave up on Derek at Attitude. Nice guy just hasnt sent out the rising rate fuel regulator kit for the rzr pump. I am going to use the third injector setup from the MCXUSA kit to add more fuel and then up the boost. Be careful adding more boost than 8lbs without providing more fuel or you will go lean. I have a AFR guage on mine and it will start to lean out at high rpm if staying in the throttle too long.

Re: Dragonfire Turbo

alcohol injection might be worth looking into for a turbo rzr. When I used to fool with grand national buicks that was the best bang for the buck for someone wanting to turn up the boost on a stock motor and keep it alive.

Re: Dragonfire Turbo

Alcohol injection works especially well when you have surpassed the maximum rpm efficiency of the compressor wheel. When you pass this point, you don't get the full benefit from the upped boost because you are heating the air charge. The alcohol injection cools it down and gives the effect of a larger, more efficient (more expensive) turbocharger. The turbos used on the RZR kits are very small and not very efficient at higher boost levels. Alcohol injection works better than an intercooler for the RZR, I think, because at slower speeds the intercooler is not very efficient. Plus, when you plumb in an intercooler, you cause pressure drop. I'd go with a good system like an Aquamist set-up. I had one of those on an Eclipse I had that made big power.
