Valve Adjustment?

Can somebody please list the basic steps to adjusting the valves on the RZR? I have a new top end (Thank you Polaris) and I am thinking it would be a good idea to check the valves after a few hours of seat time. I have had nothing but headaches from this RZR but I have too much money into it to just give it away. I recently purchased a Honda Rincon 660 and the owners manual suggest checking the valves after 20 hours. Is the RZR the same?

It's my understanding that the RZR has hydraulic lifters. So adjusting the valves isn't necessary.

Doesn't mean Ride Now dealers won't charge you for it.

Re: Valve Adjustment?

i would deffinitely recommend that everybody buy the polaris RZR factory manual. you can buy them fairly cheap on ebay. they answer "almost" all questions about maintenance.

and, i guess if you wanted to completely "field strip" the thing, or rebuild the engine, it will give you step by step instructions.

after getting mine, i very rarely take it back to the shop, unless it pertains to the warranty.

If you're gonna buy it, then really ride it!!

Re: Valve Adjustment?

I don't know about the RZR valves, but if they are like hydraulic lifters on auto engines while they do not need periodic adjustments like solid lifter, but they do need to be set to the proper pre-load when installed and if they get noisy, they need to be checked.
