Re: Polaris Dragon Motor
they are both named "liberty" engines. They have to have some sort of similarity besides being built by Polaris. I am assuming being a sled engine would require ample cooling modifiations being that they are built for the cold environment. Also would require creating an axle system that would work since it operates 90 degrees the other way. Also the clutch would need some modification for the road as opposed to snow

Re: Polaris Dragon Motor
Sorry to say the two different motors have nothing in common. Polaris uses the liberty name on all there motors that are that built in the USA. One is a designated atv or utv motor while the other is for snow. The cooling systems are a bit different as the RZR uses a radiator and the snowmobile has heat exchangers mounted to the tunnel where the snow thrown on them by the track cools the motor. The clutching on the snowmobile is larger and will not fit on an RZR. Not to mention the clutching on the RZR would not work on a snowmobile motor as they are only designed to handle 75 to 80 horsepower. But the clutches do have some similar parts that can be interchanged.

Re: Polaris Dragon Motor
wow
I have had my RZR on it's side twice ,would hate to see what would happen at 110mph. I think its time you moved up, on your class of toys. Sand rail maybe, dunebuggy, something a little more stout to take that kind of horse power.

Re: Polaris Dragon Motor
I'm with ya Costa, I had a R1 Long Travel mini rail. And I could go out and buy one again but it's much more fun to make something new.

Re: Polaris Dragon Motor
I bet those stock axles would not like that horsepower..
what parts interchange between the motors? Is anything there that can help us?
