new homemade intake
Still need an outwear but all together only cost me a $100 bucks. Also got all new hose clamps for intake boot. Felt a little bit of a difference also on the power side. Got tired of trying to insulate the stock intake from all the dust and occasional sand. Never had a problem but needed to address the issue before something major happened.

Re: new homemade intake
I used pvc or a plastic kind of like pvc not to sure, but it is chrome plated so it looks really cool. They actually sell it at Kragen and it is used for making custom intake kits for european cars like acuras and hondas. It is 3" tubing all the way through. They sell 90 degree elbows and 6" and 4" pieces. They also sell different kinds of other angles as well. I just replaced the cheap hose clamps that hold the intake boot to the throttle body. I went to Ace and got some good hose clamps they are also a little wider for a better seal. Other than that it was real easy. The K&N I got at kragen also, just need an outwear. It does make it a little louder, you can actually hear the motor suck in the air. I'll try to get some better pics.

Re: new homemade intake
I am useing the Walker Evans shocks with two inch spacers. I wanted to get a true long travel kit but money was a little bit of an issue. So instead i got the shocks now and then i can get the LSR +4 kit and that kit uses the stock length shocks. It rides much better than stock and i like the flexability of having adjustable shocks. Also on the intake, the only down side is that it is louder and you can really hear that motor scream. But all in all i like it and i even used black duct tape at the boot connection as an added security.

Re: new homemade intake
if you can take a few pics of the tubing setup itself etc that would be cool.
Id like to see where you routed it under the plastic, etc.
looks good.

Re: new homemade intake
here is a few more pics of what it looks like underneath the bed. All i really did is connect the new intake tube to the boot that goes from the stock intake canister to the throttle body. I replaced the stock cheap hose clamps with some new ones from ACE hardware, they are much stronger and a little wider for a better seal and stronger attachment. Also the intake tube is 3" all the way through. I believe it comes out about a foot then i have a 90 degree aiming it up through the bed.

Re: new homemade intake
I have the same kind of intake setup that I bought from Sidebysidemotorsports in arizona. Its made by FST and comes complete with tubing, boots, clamps, hardware, and huge Airraid filter. A K&n outerware fits perfect. I also added a sheet metal cover that mounts just above the filter to protect from direct debree and rain. I will post some pics 2morrow.

Re: new homemade intake
PsychoL,
Not to change the thread but those Walker Evans shocks look sic!
I want to do the same thing but without spacers (won't fit my enclosed trailer if I go wider), my wheels are currently offset. I also can't go much more than an inch higher without having to partially deflate the tires to get the RZR to still fit in my trailer, does this raise the RZR any higher?
Sounds like the change in suspension was worth the $$ how much did they run if I might ask?
Someone else on this forum was stating that they love these things and paid $1275 delivered.

Re: new homemade intake
I got my WE shocks at Badlands Atv for $1438 shipped. It was the best deal i found at the time. The ride height depends on how much you tighten the preload. I have them set a little higher because i like to ride at high speeds and jump a lot in the dunes. But other than that they can be set a little less softer and not so high.
