Manual says 1000 miles. I do it every 500 just for cheap insurance. Use the Polaris stuff

Re: oil , filters , when to change ?

I have some 5W-30 oil left over from my stock car racing days. Anyone see a problem in using this in my 2009 RZR? Or should I just follow the Polaris recommendations and not risk it? Appreciate any sound advice. Thanks!

Re: oil , filters , when to change ?

Here is a list of info I have culled from this and other RZR forums, hope it helps you.

OIL AND OIL FILTER INFO:
Oil Filter:
Purolator PL14610, Mobil M1-110, Bosch 3323, Walmart SuperTech ST7317, Mobil 1 M1-110, Wix 51356.
SuperTech (Wal-Mart brand) ST7317

Fram XG7317 or tg7317

Engine Oil:
Lucas 0w-40
Mobil 1 0w-40

Transmission and Transfer case:
Lucas semi-synthetic ATF sure shift

Rear Dif:
Lucas 75-90
Mobil 1 75/90
Red Line Synthetic 75/90

Front Dif:

You can get Lucas Products at Summit Racing online!
Quite a few people on PRC seem to be putting in 75/90 in both front dif and rear dif... A few have over 600 miles trouble free but a lot more seem to think you should use polaris products in front dif! Then again Hilliard's webpage recommending Mobil 1 synthetic 75/90...

Re: oil , filters , when to change ?

What size allen wrench does the oil plug take ? Is it metric ? Seems like everything I have does not fit just exactly right. Left my owners manual in WV. not sure if it gives that info any how . Would you believe I have called 3 different dealers and not one could tell me .

Just changed the oil last night. The drain plug uses a size T-27 torx head. Might be able to use an allen wrench, not sure.

Re: oil , filters , when to change ?

A T27 Torx is the same as the bed bolts, bumper bolts, etc and is way smaller than 6mm.
