Pissed Rear Diff is Grenaded!

In the last week both me and my friend have cracked our rear diffs. These things are a nightmare to change and not cheap either. Is there something out there that keeps these rears intact? What are my options?

We've been running them hard on my friends MX track. I looking at doing some bracing or building a billet diff. Are the Corr racers running stock?

Re: Rear Diff is Grenaded!

how did it crack? on the bottom or around the bolt circle? there was a torque issue from popo on some where the ring gear bolts backed out and cracked the case. mine cracked on the bottom from jumping and landing on the gas. i welded mine up and had no issues but a leaking orange seal on the passenger side of the rear dff.

check my old post http://www.rzrforums.net/engine-driv...rear-diff.html

Re: Rear Diff is Grenaded!

sorry guys as of now there is nothing out there that I know of that will fix this. It has happened to me while going five mph on my way to tech inspection. I had to race the whole weekend in front wheel drive which heats up the clutch and will quit working after a couple miles. If you are jumping on a mx type track be prepared to replace these parts.

Re: Rear Diff is Grenaded!

Im not familiar with the issue but rather than an entire case why not just a case saver? Similar to what's available for RC cars.

Its a billet housing tt451 - Turtle Racing Billet Differential Case Saver for HPI Baja 5b.

I know were talking about two totally different types of vehicles... just a thought to possibly make it more affordable.

Mine cracked in exactly the same spot. I will be welding this one up and clearancing the area on my frame where the diff is making contact. We are still looking at building billet diff cases in the near future. It's hard to say how much until we get the first set done.

Our motor mount will help with the diff hitting the skid plate but you will still have breakage. I have brocken 2 testing mine my friend Kenny has brocken 4. We are putting a 4th mount in Kenny's and mine but I havn't raced mine after putting 30k in it for just this reason. Polaris told our local dealer that we need clutches with out engine breaking and they were going to build one but that was months ago and nothin yet.

I feel your pain. I have no problem putting $ in it, as long as I know I am replacing a part with one that will hold up. Replacing a diff with another stock one kills me. I know it will just break again. Piece of mind is what I'm looking for. Somebody needs to build a badass diff. I might have to become that guy.
