61 End of Diagnostic

To access the codes, put trans in Neutral (don't forget to hold the brake, your neighbors nosy terrier will appreciate it :hihi:) and turn the key switch on and off 3 times, leaving it on the third time. The codes will start to display. You can clear them by disconnecting the battery for 20 seconds, especially for code 25, but the others you'll probably want to look into a little closer, for instance a short to ground can cause a fire under the right circumstances.

The CHECK ENGINE indicator will come on for EFI faults. It's a good idea to only drive it if you're out on the trail and have to get back, but take it easy. You never know what could be causing it and could cause more problems than you already have.

The BATTERY indicator will come on if the battery isn't being properly charged or if the electrical load is too high, for example added lights and a radio.

The WRENCH will flash each time the engine is started as a reminder when it reaches its preprogrammed service interval, which is set from the factory at 50 hours.

There's also a Diagnostic mode that will give status info and lets you set the clock. Apply brakes and put the trans in Neutral(don't forget the nosy terrier), hold the mode button down and turn the key to ON, releasing the mode button as soon as the display lights up. The wrench icon will appear.
Use the mode button to scroll through the screens. Here you can view AWD status, gear status info, set the service interval warning, scroll between MPH or KPH, and set the clock, which for the most part is what most of us will use it for. (at the clock screen, press and hold the mode button until the hour display flashes. Release the mode button and start pressing it to scroll through the hours. When done, wait a couple of seconds and the minutes will start to flash, use the mode button again. When your done, wait a few and the display will stop flashing. To exit Diag mode, turn the key off.)

I hope some of you find this useful.

What is the hour glass looking thing in the top left of the dash, and how do I get rid of it? It just came on today and won't go away!

Thanks for the great post. I am leaving in two days for a 225 mi poker run and my check engine light is on. I was going to ask for help, but this gives me a starting place.

22 TPS circuit short to battery???????
Anyone? What's TPS circuit? Is it something I could have done connecting the dynatek CDI?

What did you end up doing to fix it?

But "open short to ground"??
Seems to run fine. What are the odds of damaging something?

I recently had a code 22... The TPS is the throttle position sensor on the side of the throttle body. It might be out of adjustment.
What did you end up doing to fix it?
Mine ran fine for a while too, then it started running rough at idle.
I took it to my dealer and they hooked up their computer and said it was out of adjustment and putting out too low a voltage signal. They adjusted it and the code went away and it ran good again.

Hey I got a good one I just re tapped the transfer case today and now when I took it for a rip the engine light came on and flashes. When I hold the button the engine light flashes and at the screen there is a 0 then across from it 84 and below it there is a 2. Lol. Beats me I don't have a clue. Anyone got a idea what my problem is. ? But when I go fast it comes on and when I let go of the gas it goes out. I can't drive slow lol.
