I would call the dealership back and get their opinion, but that doesn't mean they're right. If you're in doubt just go back and get the right stuff, why take a chance?
you sshould be alright the way i understand it xp oil is next generation of agl talked to a guy one time and he just uses 5/40 motor oilonly thing i do is use polaris oil / demand drive for frt diff
Take it back, get the correct oil and and suggest they compensate you for your trouble JMO..Polaris is so hokey about the damn oils who knows what weight and specification the XP oil is...ridiculous how they try to force the Polaris LABELED oil on people. Hell even Can-Am list the weight and specifications so you can choose what ever brand you would like to use..
The new 2w-40 or 50 whatever it is crap is case in point...who the hell makes 2w-40 or 2w-50? Polaris doesn't make oil...they just spec it...and they have an oil supplier making whatever they want so they can label it and corner the market on lubricants for Polaris machines..ridiculous.
I bet if the 2w stuff becomes available "aftermarket" they will change their specs to 3w lol.
Personally I don't use any Polaris lubricants for servicing...but I also am not worried about warranty claims either.
