Best air intake system?

I need some imput here, I have been debating what air intake system i want to purchase. i have looked at the UMP, DFR"S, AFE, K&N, CYclone, Vent racing. I have heard alot of good things abou the UMP and DFR. What is the best system.
Im not real intrested in drilling any holes in my bed or having the intake tube above the bed. But is that the best way to go?
Also does placing the vent in the access panel between the seats make any difference as for ait flow into the intake? How much additional noise do you get in the cab with them?
Any imput is appreciated, im looking to upgrade my intake next so thought i would ask the members here first for some insite. Thanks

The UMP is a great system, no doubt. The cannister is much smaller and requires cutting your stock RZR to install. I am not saying that one is better than the other; but, we have been racing on this type of cannister/cyclone air filter system on our class 1 race car; as well as, UTV's for years. We have managed to bring home 3 consecutive BAJA titles and other racing series wins with this exact bolt-on system. Our system does not require any cutting/fabrication at all, mounts on the motor, and replacement filters are available nation-wide. We also have thousands of these units in the field and have had major sucess with them. In the end, it always depends upon your specific application and what you want to achieve with your off-road vehicle. We all know that the RZR needs a better intake system one way or another, so any route you take other than stock is a good one.

Re: Best air intake system?

I'm useing the Fleetguard Opti-Air 600 part number AH19477 and very happy with how well it works. Dirt and dust does't get past this cyclonic two stage filter. Check out this web site. http://www.cumminsfiltration.com/pdf...05_optiair.pdf

Re: Best air intake system?

I have the UMP and the Opti Air and they both perform the same so since the Opti Air costs 1/3 (+ a little fabrication) & is more watertight it would get my vote--if it was on the list.

BTW the "cutting your Rzr" that DFR mentions for the UMP is only to trim the plastic air hood to fit the UMP's much larger intake.

Re: Best air intake system?

Is the Opti-Air AH-19477 still available? Several months back, all the listings said out of stock. I cant find anyone online that sells just the filter housing assembly.

Re: Best air intake system?

I voted for DFR, I own the DFR, (usually works that way) They were really great at getting me the "original" Billet adapter to the top of the Snorkel intake that doesn't restrict any airflow.

However, I will say that UMP makes an awesome Filter. If I were not running my DFR that would be my choice. UMP is now making the 8" and that gets really good flow, you want a great filter system that can handle just how much CFM of air your engine requires, whether its Stock, Turbo, or BB...

I don't think the above comment about a Coffee can is appropriate to any company that works as hard as these did with R&D to make great filter systems...
