Just checked mine. The boot was off the same way. I head a heck of a time trying to get that back on to stay. Seems like it wants to slip off when you tighten the clamp. What sucky design.

Wrench Re: low idle

Well I tried cleaning the MAF sensor, and also cleaning the throttle plate. I actually removed the sensore itself and srpayed it clean.

Fired it back up and it seemd to idle ok but it really ran crappy and sputtery for a term of words. It only has 40hrs and I was up in the moutains in dusty terrian, I thought it just might be the altitude
(9,000ft) but the problem persisted when I got it home. In leu of calling the dealer, has anyone else expirenced this and may know the fix ?

Thanks

Jesse

Re: low idle

take it to the dealer mine does the same thing. have them clean it and get it documented. mine will be back to the dealer on monday for the 6th time in 300 miles. but now i have to put a quart of oil in it before the filter even gets dirty. dealer says i should get all the new filter upgrades and a new top end on polaris. but im not holdin my breath!

The dealer told you they'd supply a new filter and a top end? What's that all about?

Yep!

Keep an eye on those boots boys and girls.

Mine wasn't quite as hard to get on because my air box has been moved closer to the throttle body but that still didn't prevent it from being pulled off.

Re: low idle

ya they r claiming they will give me new filter, air box, and new boot from box to the carb, and a new top end. it only has around 300 miles and it has been in the dealers shop in the 2 months i have owned it than in my garage. it has burned a 28 to 32 onces of oil every 75 miles since i have had about 125 miles on it. so check your oil as well as your filter. and take some with u, my buddy was 75 miles from the trailer when he found out he was a quart and a half low. by the time he got back motor was toast. and it all started with low idle and dust in the intake. so WATCH your oil if you are having intake issues. just my 2 cents.

Re: low idle

I took mine into the shop, and explained what was wrong. They said that there may be a recall about the intake issue. I will post more when I find out.

Re: low idle

So far, Hittng 197 on the compression test. got a pass on the injectors, got a pass on the MAF, but for some reason pulled a code on the TPS. For some reason the TPS is outa spec and the mechanics says it does'nt show in the book what it should be, so he will have to contact Polaris tomorrow.

Ok, the dealer talked to Polaris, and it seems that there is issues with the ECU not dumping the codes properly. So Polaris is sending the tech a program to re-flash the ECU. Keepin my fingers crossed X

Re: low idle

Getting closer, Dealer says the re-promamming didnt work.

They ran some more tests and the fuel pump was at 33psi and should be at 40+psi, they ordered a new fule pump from polaris, it will be in about 4 days. I had such a great time with the RzR and cant wait till they get it going again !!!!
