trans problem?

I was out riding sat. with my new RZR with a buddy on his,we were drag racing up this dirt road when mine seemed to lock-up the trans. I could not move the shifter or anything. I shut the engine off and waited a few minutes and it fixed itself. Curious if anyone else has had this problem.
