Re: benz silent rider exhaust
Hey, a big thanks to you for getting back to us. Now the obvious question that you'll probably hear over and over....any noticeable power loss, in your opinion?
Thanks,
John

Re: benz silent rider exhaust
Hey Jim,
I take it the benz fits fine with the bushquard. Is it the guard supplied by Polaris? I was wondering how good the noise reduction is from the drivers seat.

Re: benz silent rider exhaust
I got my Benz a couple days ago. Installed in about 5 minutes. Only got to try it out up & down the driveway but it sure sounds better.
I had only planned on using it during hunting season but does anyone know the long term affect it may or may not have on the motor, such as back pressure, etc., haven't heard anyone discuss this.

You need the polaris rear brush guard bumper to support the muffler.
I installed mine in 15 minutes and I estimate 50% quieter.

Re: benz silent rider exhaust
I also purchased a Benz muffler for my RZR. It really did quiet the noise! I felt it did slow the RZR down some, but perhaps it was lack of the loud exhaust that made it seem slower. The Benz has some rather sharp pipe bends from the original exhaust to the intake of the Benz and the pipe is quite a bit smaller in diameter. I only use it part of the time as I am also worried about the back pressure. I also would like to know if this will damage the motor.

Re: benz silent rider exhaust
How did you all get this muffler to work? I just talked to them by phone 2 weeks ago and they said they were working on one for RZR with rear deluxe bumper and would contact me when complete.

Re: benz silent rider exhaust
The Benz I got was designed to fit the pre-runner bumper. If you have the deluxe bumper they are having to make modifications to make it fit.

Re: benz silent rider exhaust
1idrod,
Just as KYRZR said. I have the pre-runner bumper. The Benz is a snap to install.

Re: benz silent rider exhaust
KYRZR,
I put some rubber grommets on the clamp bolts. It gave the Benz some flexibility. I was worried about mounting it ridged. What do you think?

Re: benz silent rider exhaust
Paul,
I did the same thing. I'm still worried about the affect it may have on the motor so I take it off unless I'm hunting.

Re: benz silent rider exhaust
I installed a Benz today and was worried about the added restriction, so I had a short discussion with the owner of our local custom motorcycle builder this afternoon (Martin Bros.) and he is of the opinion that a little extra backpressure will likely be a good thing for this motor. They build alot of custom pipes for all types of bikes, so I'm giving his credibility the nod and leaving the Benz on.
I'd like to keep hearing everyones experiences with it though as you put more time/miles on it.
