Change in Gibson exhaust header pipe??

Just wondering if anyone knows why Gibson change the header routing where it attaches to the head. My pipes run side by side while the newer exhaust pipes cross over each other at the head.

I was told they just do it to get more clearance between tires and headers. Maybe they see problem, if somebody will want go with extra large mud tires. IMHO

I called tech support this am after installing mine last night. He said it was due to the stock steel wheel combo being to close to the pipes. When they made the original pipes they had aluminum wheels on their rzr wich had a different offset. He said the redesiged version was better in his opinion.
Anyways both versions rock!

I just installed my gibson tonight, it does not take it long to build up heat. Has anyone wrapped theirs with the header fiberglass, if so how does it stand up to mud and water?
