Re: clicking in front end when turning, coming from the wheels

I am new here but definitely not new to the UTV world or ATV. I am sorry but I see people complaining about the RZR with many issues they have. Go to the Rhino forums the same thing happens and the Teryx and so on and so on. Bottom line is these vehicles are not intended to do all of the crazy shit we do with them. They will require more repairs and maintenance the harder they are ran. I have never owned one ATV or UTV in over 20 years of riding that did not require up keep to keep it alive. The RZR is not any different. My current (about to be replaced) Rhino has had many issues like this. If you think any Manufacturer is going to cover all the repairs you are mistaken. Polaris is no different than Yamaha, GM, Ford or Dodge or whoever. If they suspect abuse then you will be on your own to pay. If you buy a UTV, ATV or any high performance toy like the RZR and then go drive it like we all do to have fun it will require maintenance to keep it alive. Go watch any ATV race and check out the pits between heats and you will see what I mean. They are checking over everything, nuts, bolts, filters , bearings .......The harder we beat them the more we have to do to keep them going. It's just the way it goes. Don’t mean to step on toes, I think before we go off on the manufactures we need to consider what part we have in this picture. If I was a new buyer and read through the forums here I would never buy a RZR, Rhino or any UTV based on the gripes and people complaining about Polaris, Yamaha, Kawasaki and so on. As for Can Am they will be no better on the warranty end. Been there done that already. I agree the forums are a great place to share issues and we all work together to solve them. It is what makes the forums great. But also forums are where people look for information on what to buy. If we run down all the units and bad mouth the manufactures we will scare of many potential buyers and our sport will suffer. It is ok to complain just be careful about how you do it. The more UTV drivers we have the more the manufactures will work to come up with better and better rides for us!

I think you have a great point however it can be hard not to bitch when your machine breaks. You will always here more noise coming from the buyers who happen to have problems. I have had very few problems after months of hard riding. Very satisfied with my purchase and would recommend a RZR to anyone.

Replaced my front wheel bearings and the noise stopped, put on 50+ miles this weekend in some rough terrain, still no noise.

Re: clicking in front end when turning, coming from the wheels

I Changed Out My Tires All Around. Went To 9"wide On The Front.
As Soon As I Started Driving I Heard The Same Type Of Noise.
Inspected Front Hubs Etc.
Was Baffled , Everything Seemed Good.
Then I Checked The Toe In And Alignment.
This Was Out By Almost An Inch From The Factory.(wheels Were Splayed Out)
Readjusted Everything And The Noise Is Gone.
Worth Checking Into.

Re: clicking in front end when turning, coming from the wheels

I have this noise also. And i agree that if you ride hard it will cost you money but polaris has droped the ball on the rzr. Its a piece of shit. its a fun piece of shit and if you dont mind working on it all the time than i gess its ok for you. but lets call a piece of a piece of shit. If you shine a terd its still a piece of shit. as for other sxs i dont own them so what happens to them is not my worry. however i do own an rzr and out of all the mini-bikes dirt bikes motorcycle's quad's boat's car's truck's lawn mower's garden tractor's and chain saw's the rzr has been the biggest piece of shit. but i do have to say out of all the units that i have owned and its alot (over 100) the rzr fun factor is in the top 10. I gess you can call it a fun terd.

Re: clicking in front end when turning, coming from the wheels

It's funny....on the other forums there is way less pissing and moaning going on about the rzr.. Where do you guys run these?????? we have several in my area that are as trouble free as any other side by side.. Just curious as to the difference in riding style and how that plays into this.

Re: clicking in front end when turning, coming from the wheels

I was in riding in Colorado a couple of months ago when mine started clicking when turning right. Thought it was a cv joint. I hadn't found this forums yet but read about the same information on the PRC forum. I ended up taking it apart and finding nothing. It would not click with the wheel off the ground. Ended up greasing it and the clicking stopped. The thing is, there is not suposed to be grease there. It is a sealed bearing.

After a couple hundred miles it started clicking when turning to the the other way. I took it to the dealer and the mechanic said the wheel bearing were bad. He had seen a few others that had failed. Installed new wheel bearing, no grease and the clicking is gone. For now anyway.

Re: clicking in front end when turning, coming from the wheels

Well I literally just walked in the door to find this topic, I have 3 hours so far on mine and cut my ride short tonight with two other buddies of mine in there rzr's, the popping is so loud they could hear it down the street, we stopped to take a look and obviously could see anything but if you push the wheel in, it makes a pop, then pull it, pop again and loud clicking turning to the left, once I decided to call it a night and left them behind it freaking never did it again!
I can not get it to make the noise again, so I guess I will go ahead and taker it apart and see what I can find.
r6realtor

Oh and by the way I have not taken it over 30MPH yet I have really been taking it easy for the break in period.
