Re: Spark Plugs?

That is one of those topics that will have a lot of different theories and opinions,,,
I just use NGK Iridiums.
I have heard that the champion plugs that come with the RZR and kind of crappy.

Are you running the stock heat range? And do you know the NGK number?

Re: Spark Plugs?

I'll tell you spark plugs are the biggest gimmick parts they make for any engines.Platnum, irridium, rim fire ,split fire they all suck.Stick to the standard plugs and you wont have a problem. You can change the heat range if you feel the need but dont fall for BS and higher prices

Re: Spark Plugs?

I've had no problem using the stock plugs yet.

Good place to mention to blow out your holes (???) the spark plugs holes before changing. I get lots of crap come out everytime prior to changing.

When should the plugs be changed? I have about 1600 or so miles on mine.

Re: Spark Plugs?

With my experience in the automotive industry, unless you have some major mods to the in engine I always recommend to put what the factory put in it. I run Pulstar plugs in my Mazda3. ( The world's most powerful spark plug from Enerpulse ) It helped me actually gain five horse on the dyno in Idaho Falls. They are kind of expensive. Only sold in pairs and $50.00 a pair. Thats the downside. They are really big in the Tuner Market. I was thinking about them for my Rzr. Its gonna be either Pulstar or NGK Iridiums. I sell alot of those at work. Just my opinions though.

Thanks
Thom

Re: Spark Plugs?

If a car can run 100,000 miles on one set , I am sure the RZR should be good for a few thousand.
