Outstanding!!!!! Thank you. If you don't put the bolts back on the bottom of the clutch cover, won't it allow a bunch of dirt (sand) etc into your clutch housing ??

Well the cover has a ridge that sits in a groove on the back half, where the gasket seals the two halves.
I only leave two bolts out. The one above the coolant lines (that get really hot) and the one above the drive shaft. They aren't too hard to reach, but I don't need them.
I also use a modifed cover that is vented in an effort to keep the clutch as cool as possible. I have put my hand over the holes with the clutch running and felt air coming out, not going in. I have also never found any sand or dirt inside the clutch, even with all these holes...

Very nice. Thank you. I didn't realize that it was so easy to change the belt.

A question has come up as to how to pry open the secondary using the socket wrench extension. You push the extension towards the back of the RZR against the roller to pry open the sheaves of the secondary.

Here is a picture that BigMike58 took showing us how it works:

re: How to change a RZR clutch belt VIDEO

If you are putting together a tool kit for your RZR you might want to also include some needle nose pliers and a good knife. Sometimes if you break a belt they shred and the cords in the belt get tangled up in the clutch. If you are lucky you will hear some chunks come off the outside and hit the cover and be able to turn the engine off before they shred. Also remember to take a flashlight with you on night rides so you can work on it in the dark... Belts can last thousands of miles, but I have had them break in less than 500 too.

I am not sure if that hole is only on the S, but it's not on mine. I have an 09 RZR (not S)and ended up using a strap oil filter wrench.

What hole are you talking about? The hole where you stick the socket extension? If so you might have the Rapid Reaction secondary instead of the Team Roller...

Yes, I was talking about the secondary. Do you know the difference of the two, performance wise?

re: How to change a RZR clutch belt VIDEO

The Rapid Reaction cost less to manufacture, there are less parts. But it is not as easy to change/tune. You can buy the Team Roller from Polaris or several clutch vendors. If you have a stock machine then leave it the way it is.

If you have the Rapid Reaction secondary you can get slack in the belt by pulling up on the belt hard. This will force open the sheaves of the secondary (like using the extension trick), it is just harder to do.
