Do you think its Ok to draw air from here

Guys I'm trying to decide if it would be a good idea or not to draw intake air for the side (as marked in photo) you can see the RZR is dusty in but this area is clean for the most part. Just FYI the intake would be on the drivers side but the same area, I just had a photo of the passenger side.

What ya think?

Thanks

I would worry about what you would catch (i.e. trees, brush, etc...) with it proturding from the side. I hunt with mine, so I go through the woods and have scratches in that area. Just a thought.

Good catch Cory, but the inlet would be flush with the body, nothing protruding.

That looks great. Did you see any performance increase with that?

Why not just do in the cab intake? would be the cleanest air out of anywhere i would assume except maybe the front but that would take alot of air plumbing and fab work

Re: Do you think its Ok to draw air from here

I've been wanting to relocate the CVT intake to the spot shown. This would give the engine ALL the air in the stock air intake. The CVT doesn't need clean air so this spot would work great. Besides, we all know how dirty the air really is from the stock intake :-)
I've mentioned this before but nobody has taken the bait yet. I guess I'll just have to do all the work myself... LOL

Re: Do you think its Ok to draw air from here

I put the KMS performance intake on my RZR it uses the stock box but changes the inlet tube and filter. On the dyno it gained 4hp……$150.00

I got the doors from Jade Davis, I built the hinges because at the time Jade did not have hinges that would work on GEN-2 because Polaris added a gusset on the cage. The latching system comes with the doors.

The doors are expensive to some but worth it to me, around $700.

Heres link with more photos.
