I recently purchased a used 08. I've been going through it in great detail. I've noticed a few times now driving it the neighborhood that some small amount of tranny fluid is collecting in the vent tube and then leaking out to the ground.
Do others have the same experience? Is that normal?
Check the fluid level. If it is overfilled it will do that. Also, if you have water in the fluid it will get hot and overflow out the vent. If it was me I would just change the fluid and have peace of mind with it.
Its not normal to leak to the ground if your keeping all four tires planted.
As I planned to do, I did check the fluid. Are you sitting down?
I drained nearly 2 quarts from the fill/level cap before it stopped running out.
Ok, so I bought this used as a trade in at the dealer. 800 miles with 60 hours.
So how does this happen?
1. Does the factory fill the transmission before installing - I don't think so
2. The only other explanation is that someone overfilled at the original purchase or on a later service. But here is the catch... They must have tipped the rzr on its side to actually beable to fill that much.
Anyone have an actual plausible explanation for this. The fluid looked clean and no water!
Thaks
