WINDROCK- planned rides/trail reports

Rzr Forums provides an awesome platform to connect with people out on the trails. I have met and rode with several people from here that without this forum would have never happened. And it is always a great time .

If interested in hooking up with some other forum members ,on a regular and random basis, post up your planned windrock rides.

Or give info on the trails you rode to give some insight on the trail conditions so to help others plan out their rides.

My latest ride was last Saturday with AuMiner and TnWoodie (complete strangers- but quickly found we had a lot in common and made friends quickly) We rode the trails south of rattle rock, some of the trail involved were 82,83,19,4,g39,6,49,41,27. Those trails are all dry and in good shape.. If you find rutts and steepness somewhat intimidating , going up 6 may take you out of you comfort zone somewhat but it's really nothing to worry about .

The week before hooked up with danny12 and played on 77,78,80,82,35,36. All good trail but again if rutts and steepness is not your thing, comming up and out of 80 to 77 had deep rutts and is steep

Got another ride in the making soon - all north of rattle rock next time. Stay tuned.

Post up!

Re: WINDROCK- planned rides/trail reports

We had a blast riding this past weekend at Windrock. Probably crossed your path a time or two.

Went and took a glance at Rattle Rock, all I can say is WOW, don't want any part of that!

Re: WINDROCK- planned rides/trail reports

Windrock ATV Club is having its Member Appreciation Day tomorrow, 9/10. They will be opening the gates to the events area at 0800 and I plan to be there ASAP looking for a small group to go riding with for the morning. Anyone? Anyone?

Those dry, dusty trails would have been a whole different story if they were wet and muddy. Weather conditions impact the difficulty. It would have been slicker that cat s**t on a linoleum floor as well as steep. Thanks again jerrzr, can't wait to go again.

Yep my work schedule is really jacked for now but should get back to normal after the first of the year.

9/24/16 is my next opportunity to ride the mountain.

WINDROCK- planned rides/trail reports

Today was even more dust than last week. We did get some good riding in and got to watch some crawlers on the stairsteps. Enjoyed the company.

By the way, T22 has been heavily reworked and a good intermediate trail now, not completely rutted out like it was.

Re: WINDROCK- planned rides/trail reports

Has anybody been down T32 lately? Just wondering of they fixed the deep ruts on the hill climb. Looking to go next weekend if the machine gets out of the shop.

Re: WINDROCK- planned rides/trail reports

The mountain got a little rain tonight. Those planning to ride in the morning will have a dust free ride maybe. I am sure when the sun gets a few hours on it, it will be back dusty!!

Pictures from this weekend - http://imgur.com/a/hVx7A

A tree fell and was cleared on 16 in the middle of the last climb above the 18 offshoot. Makes the obstacle much easier, and kind of takes that trail off of my fun list since that was the only good part.

75 was in good shape. I was told they have been cracking down pretty hard on riding on the roads due to a recent accident, but I didn't have any issues on Thursday or Friday on the brief amount of road that we had to ride.

7 was pretty rough. Seems like there is a high volume of water that comes through there causing washouts. It was my first time on the trail, and we probably could have completed the loop, but didn't want to get in a hairy situation with it getting dark and only having 2 people. We probably did about 75% or more of the trail coming from the east side before turning around.

39 was in prime condition for the portion that we did coming in from the 40a side. Unfortunately we had some trail carnage before making the climb out of the creek after the 40a offshoot and didn't get a chance to make it back to finish the trail.

15 was pretty normal and in good shape. Headed down 21 after coming up 15. Made it down to the second obstacle down in the turn below 21a before coming back up. The bottom obstacle was much easier than when I was there in June. The climb on the left just before 21a was about the same as last time. Got hung up on the undercut rocks at the top as usual, but was able to make it with a little rock stacking and happy pedal.
