Utah - Idaho - Nevada RZR owners KNOLLS Knockout

Utah Desert Foxes is putting on the Knolls Knockout again this year. UTV racers will be doing two laps about 35 miles each lap. Last year there were only three UTV's needless to say I won but it wasn't much of a race. If you have a machine bring it out. It will be fun. No rules. You just need a spark arrestor. Call me if you want to hear more about it. Ben @ (801)318-0808

What exactly do you mean no rules? can you run a turbo?

Re: Utah - Idaho - Nevada RZR owners KNOLLS Knockout

- About the turbo: I don't think that they will care if you are running a turbo. They are really laid back. But every racing series that I am familiar with only allows naturally aspirated vehicles. Hey I would like some competition. Even if you have a turbo. I am sure that they would let you race just maybe they won't let you take home the trophy. BUt who cares about the trophy I am just there to have a good time like everyone else.

- The terrain: Yes lot's of whoops, a lot of sand, some dry lake beds, more whoops, some rocky sections, a little mud, more whoops, a little more sandy washes, etc...

Last year I would pass a lot of the quads and even some of the motorcycles in the woods and technical sections then when we got to the open dried up lake beds I would top out at about 60 mph and the motorcycles would pass me. Then I would pass them on the more technical sections. It would go like that back and forth the whole race.

The desert foxes put on a great event. I bet that there were about 200 motorcycles at the last race, 20-30 quads and about three UTV's. My picture on this forum is actually taken at the race last year. A guy on this forum took the picture.

Re: Utah - Idaho - Nevada RZR owners KNOLLS Knockout

I raced this event on my quad last year it was BRUTAL! BUt the most fun I have had in years.
But I am definetly doing it again this year. Thinking of entering my RZR instead of my quad.
The woops are gnarly. Did you just have to roll most of them?
I have a pro spec desert race atv and it beat the hell out of it and me. I only imagine the RZR being even worse?

I think i remember seeing your RZR there. It was all black right? You said it was your wives and she would kill you if you raced it. I think you were just going to use your RZR as a support vehicle.

The whoops were gnarly!! I charged about half of them. But those big ones that are about 5-6 feet tall I just rolled over them. You can only take so much of a beating.

Re: Utah - Idaho - Nevada RZR owners KNOLLS Knockout

Yeah that was me. I did use it that way as support. It was so much fun, I think racing in the RZR would be fun as hell too!
I took second on my quad and have been working on it and me so I can take first this year. SO I will probably race my quad.
I couldn't believe those woops.
They just kept going and going.
Ill reply back on here when I decide.
See you there
Kam

If you don't race your RZR have one of your buddies race it or even better your wife. Maybe she will kick my butt.

No I have never raced any other races. I have chased the Baja 1000 for the last couple years for my brother in law. But there just really isn't much affordable racing in Utah for guys like me other than this race.
