Holz Bumpers and Skid Plate

Just got myself the Holz front bumper and Holz skid plate for my RZR and just wondering how easy was the install?

Don't know about the bumpers, but the plate(s) are pretty easy if you can get the RZR up in the air. Couple of the rear bolts are a little tricky.

Holz skid is excellent choice. Not to hard you need to drill two holes in the back where the recieve hitch is but other than that it uses all the same hardware from the stock skid. I had a bit of a difficulty because I have a trail armour front bumper and it also has a front skid built in it. I was able to put the holz front one on and put the bumper one over it and it is real nice. Took my rzr out today on some real tough terrain and the skid is great. I am running stock tires so my clearance is not real high but it saved me a few times.

I have the same set up, double the protection. The weight added to the front end is it's only down fall. call me superstitious but I had to take the rhino decal off. Bad juju

The skidplate should be staight forward- mounts in stock holes except back 2.
Trick to the bumper is putting the upper a-arm pivot bolts through the bumper first, then slide the bumper with bolts into place as a whole unit. Everything else is pretty simple.
You might have to grow a third arm to hold your a-arm in place while you attempt this part of the install

I really like the Holz front bumper, but is it necessary to remove (or cut?) the lower fairing in order to install the bumper? I noticed in the pictures on the Holz site that the bottom half of the plastic fairing is gone??

Yes. in order to mount it to the frame, we found it easier to just cut the lower half of the bumper panel off. I personally think it looks better that way. The provided aluminum skid plate will fill the void left over and still provide good protection.

Any idea when those UHMW A-Arm guards might be available? Will they extend up high enough to provide good CV boot protection?

I wanted to add here, any extra work needed for the Holz install is well worth the effort. Just as the rear braces need hardware removal, look at the extra strength you get for a few minutes time.

It's not much weight with the bumper being made of chomoly and I think you'll be hard pressed to find a lighter stronger front bumper.
