New Holz Racing Cage

So I've been looking for a cage that would allow me to retain my cargo area and have solid replaceable doors.
The cage is made of the lighter stronger chromoly with aluminum replaceable doors.
It also comes with an aluminum roof, so mounting my goodies will be easier and have a much more solid mount for the tougher terrain I want to start running.
Check out the nice aluminum clamps for the roof, SAWEEEET.
As a bonus (for me) it has the mounting for a true 4 or 5 point belt harness assembly.
I'm really into the fit and finish of a product and Holz keeps delivering just that, LOOK at the door fitment to the body!!!
I'm told they are going to be 16-1700 bucks, what do you guys think??
I need to save a few more dimes but I'll put up a review when I get one.
So uh Holz, How about an RZRForums discount for us guys that like your stuff over here.

Re: New Holz Racing Cage

I would like it more if it had bar across dash, but the craftsmanship looks top notch.

I've always wondered what that bar was for and would it get in the way of my half windshield?

Re: New Holz Racing Cage

I think if you are going to spend the money on a cage it should be a whole lot stronger than stock. I think the dash bar that ties the two posts together is going to make a bolt on style cage alot stronger than one with no dash bar. The UTV CRAP and LSR race cages look better to me. Holtz should make there production cage more like there race cage. Holtz race cage looks sick.

Re: New Holz Racing Cage

The full on race cages take away the room I have to toss on all my goodies and accessories. I love the fact I can still use a lot of my Polaris Lock and ride stuff yet have a much safer cage than the stock unit.
For what I want simpler is better. I'm looking forward to see just how much of the stuff I already own fits...if it's a lot or most I've saved tons of money for new stuff and lordy knows I love to buy stuff for the RZR's!!

Re: New Holz Racing Cage

Maybe you would like a cage like my TCB cage, it gives room in back and gives higher sides around bed

Don't get me wrong the Holtz is sweet, just pointing out bed space on TCB cage.

Re: New Holz Racing Cage

Their cage looks pretty tough. Chromoly cage with doors and a roof for well under $2K seems like a steal. Is that right? I'm sure you could request the bar across the hood which I think is a good idea as the stock mounts will become the weak link. The bar would tie them together making them stronger.

Re: New Holz Racing Cage

Yah, I had a lock and ride box until my cage came in. The Holtz cage will work perfect for you! Pics when you get it.

Yep, aluminum roof and doors with chromoly cage for 16-1700 bones.

Re: New Holz Racing Cage

Ah Chromolly Vs DOM.

Chromolly is great steel but I don't think it makes good cages and NASCAR agrees with me. They spec 1020 DOM.

I personally despise Chromolly and think it is little more than a marketing ploy and an excuse to nick unsuspecting people for a few more $$$.

The problem with it is that you need to be a welding god to get good penetration and unless the outfit doing the work heat treats for stress relief and employs an inspector don't expect good results.

1020 DOM is the gold standard for cages simply because an average welder can get great penetration even on a bad day.

A bad weld on great steel makes my head hurt, give me DOM anyday.

Not saying Holtz has anything but great welders, might be the best on earth for all I know.
