I figured i would post up some pics of my Warn bumper since there arent many floating around. Arky just posted up pics of his EMP bumper, so now heres some to compare it too.

The EMP appears to be a knock off of the Warn bumper with the exception of the upper roll over bar. The Warn extends above the hood, like most rock crawlers, which helps in a roll over, while the EMP appears to barely break even with the top of the hood and be more for decoration/HID light protection.

I don't recall if the WARN mounts to the factory radiator mounts or not. Both however appear to block/obstruct the radiator a good deal from direct airflow, especially with a winch installed.

Yep I brought up the same point about the radiator in a thread about the EMP. Most people just shrugged me off. Anyone that gets in any mud already knows how big a deal it could be. I've been reduced to pulling my hood off and dumping cooler water over my radiator while out on a trail lol. Thats without anything extra blocking airflow!

Re: Warn bumper installed

I agree about the Airflow to the radiator. It does reduce airflow a little, but i think it provides more airflow then the EMP bumper does, but thats just by looking at the pictures. i dont do any mudding really, so im not TOO worried about it. But i will be getting a different hood or the screen kit for my stock hood. I have not had any overheating problems in the couple weeks it has been installed though.

Also it does NOT mount to the radiator support/mount. It mounts like the EMP bumper does, or i should say the EMP bumper mounts like the Warn does since the Warn was the first to the market. I like the mounting system of the Warn bumper a little better too. ONLY by looking at the pictures, it appears to be a little stronger in my opinion. But again, i have not seen the EMP in person yet.

I like them both, but i liked the Warn a little better. Both are great bumpers im sure

Re: Warn bumper installed

It sounds like the Warn is the overall better bumper of the 2. What does the Warn /EMP bumper cost?

Re: Warn bumper installed

the warn is a bit more expensive. I got mine for around $400 but thats with a good discount. I know EMP had a special for i less then $300 plus shipping, but i think the price has gone up now... not to sure.

Re: Warn bumper installed

i believe btwn the winch and bumper, it added 70pounds or more. I believe shipping weight btwn the two was close to 80. Its heavy, even with my HD springs on the front, cranked all the way up, it will give an inch or so of sag...
