The vacuator valve is optional on the BTI setup (sold by DFR). It's absolutely key to how effective the system is in keeping the dirt away from the filter and expelling it as you drive. Incoming air swirls around the canister and towards the lid (the "dead" end). A combination of the centrifugal push of the swirling air and the pulsations from the 2 cylinder engine will spit dust out the valve. It's unlikely any significant amount of water would enter this valve unless you shut off the engine & leave it submerged for a long time. For more normal situations where a small amount of water gets in the canister it can exit through the valve.

If you still feel it's not important to you then just tape over the opening.
