I called him and he said a set of Aluminum weighs 48lbs and the UHMW weighs 40lbs.
He was comparing with Ricochets aluminum skids which are made of 3/16" (.190) 5052-H32 Aluminum. (thanks google)

Its in Utah. Shipping should be less than Aluminum.

I like the fact that the 1/2" UHMW weighs less than 3/16 aluminum.
