you could do it with a dpdt relay, but just splicing into it will get you in trouble.. rzr range switch works with a resistor pack if you just start splicing in and driving your ligts from there, you're going to introduce a different resistance and the digital dash wont be able to tell what gear your in.. this same question was covered and diagrammed on prc if you're interested in doing it.
